Between nature and art are Anahita Ghazanfari and Haris Rashid.
This October, Artemis Art is proud to present In Between Leaves, a whimsical art exhibition by visual artists Anahita Ghazanfari and Haris Rashid whose affinity for nature features prominently in their individual bodies of work. The exhibition commences on Saturday, 14th October 2017, with an opening reception at 3 pm, and will continue its run until Sunday, 12th November 2017. The guest of honour Datuk Salmah Abu Mansor, Academic Advisor, Melvern International Academy will be officiating the exhibition.
About the artists:
An Iran-born artist, Anahita has been passionate about art since she was a little girl. Her father who is an archaeologist has nurtured her passion towards arts by allowing her to express her art freely, including on the walls of their home, and through exposure to history books, poems, and museums. Moving to live in Malaysia, she describes it as one decision that has allowed her to expand her horizons and view art from a perspective that goes beyond her home country. Using nature as the basis, her artworks revolve around the subject of human perception, combining diverse elements such as her own insights, emotions, childhood memories, and observations.
Haris’s love for art began during his high school days, encouraged by his mother, who was also his school’s art teacher. Graduated from The One Academy, this young artist has always been experimenting with various media combinations and surfaces such as wood and textured pressed paper but in recent days, wild animals have become the mainstay of his focus, both for his concern of the depleting numbers of these animals in the wild, as well as his fascination for them.
