Me.Reka Makerspace launches this February 9th till 11th 2018 in Publika, hosting a myriad of innovative workshops from 10 am till 10 pm.
We believe each one of us has a creative flair when it comes to making something — writing poetry, knitting, baking artisanal cookies, et cetera. However here at Me.Reka Makerspace, they provide a platform for inner Tony Starks (a reference from Iron Man, for those who did not get it) can come out and play. At this space, Me.Reka hosts series of classes, workshops, and demonstrations to equip students with knowledge of design which constitutes lessons on fabrications, electronics, textile knowledge, Virtual Reality (VR) and designing classes.
Me.Reka also conducts a special 3-hour programme dubbed as Explorer Programme which enables students (between age 12-18) to select two out of eight workshops in the likes of Art, Content Creation, Design, Digital Marketing, Energy, Fashion to Product Development and Technology. These workshops are equipped with professionally-trained trainers from different backgrounds to come together to grow into a creative and sustainable community in Malaysia.
As it is the Year of Dog in the coming horizon, Me.Reka launches officially for 2018 with a host of workshops for us to participate in and do good to make the life of stray animals better. Me.Reka promises to pay forward a donation 50% of the workshops’ proceedings to PAWS Animal Welfare Society, Petaling Jaya. We just love an organisation with a cause, and Me.Reka seems to embody it.
