Top 5 Places You Can Host a Raya Feast!
Raya has come and gone, but the celebration continues. If you are already pretty bored of the lemangs and satay by now, here are 5 places you should visit to try something different but with the same gastronomical pleasure.
The Majapahit, Arcoris Mont Kiara
The food served here is predominantly Thai and Indonesian dishes, with some Vietnamese and Malaysian take. They have an extensive menu which covers all the bases in terms of taste buds as well as portions. As previously mentioned, The Majapahit offers a local twist on tapas called “sea-pas” which is also clever idea for bigger group dining. Apart from that, Majapahit is the place to host your Raya feasts because the restaurant is spacious enough to hold up to 200 people at once.

Malabar Palace, Hartamas Shopping Center
Malabar Palace specializes in South Indian cuisine, particularly Kerala specialties like rich fish curries and parathas, which is a nice change from the regular Raya spread we are used to, without pushing the envelope so much. They offer North Indian dishes in the likes of kebabs and naans as well, so variety is there. The restaurant is big and perfect for huge gathering, with the decor to match the mood. The ambiance of the place is regal which makes a nice photo backdrop to commemorate a good time with friends and family. Our personal recommendation would be the crab soup, which is truly a soulful bowl of soup with big portions of crab meat. Definite winner as a starter.
Malabar Palace
Real Food cafe at 1 Mont Kiara is first of its kind as a lifestyle, meat-free restaurant which emphasizes on clean, fresh and “recognizable” ingredients, without compromising on taste or quality. Though not a restaurant for everyone, Real Food features an array of organic, meat-free and freshest ingredients for their dishes on the menu that are scrumptious. They are also child-friendly as they have a designated play area for children. On top of that, they cater to different restricted diets including vegetarian, vegan, wheat/gluten free, garlic/onion-free or sugar-free without compromising in the taste or quality. Perhaps an option for a healthy post-Raya detox? You won’t regret it.
