A serious contender in the coffee game at Mont Kiara, Kopenhagen Coffee is no rookie in the brookie (brownie+cookie) game and a must-visit when you’re in the mood for some R and R on a gloomy afternoon.
Kopenhagen Coffee is started by Scandi who was passionate to bring Danish’s favourite sweets and savouries for the people of Kuala Lumpur, in the zen ambiance of hygge that Scandinavia is known for.
The minimalistic and crisp interior of the cafe makes it a very conducive space for patrons to get a cuppa and have some work done. Though slightly compact, the space layout is well-planned and fully functional as it also has a comfy nook with lounging chairs and sofa for privacy. There are also multiple-plug points, which makes it a great option for a co-working space too.
The best part of a Danish cafe has got to be the confectioneries. Here, they serve a mean variety of milk-based coffee, tea, and Scandinavian bakes and some savoury odds. Brookie, which is a dreamy brownie and cookie hybrid is a best seller which is a no-brainer. Dream cake is another must-try dish because, one, it is a traditional Danish cake, and secondly, the moist, buttery flavors paired with coconut and brown sugar topping is to-die-for. Doesn’t that suffice a visit already? Apart from that, Kopenhagen also offers great breakfast all-day menu featuring their very own home-made bread such as rye loaves, croissants, and the likes.
The only hassle about this cafe is that parking is quite limited, hence it is best to get dropped or park at a nearest paid-parking space nearby. Do avoid double parking or illegal road-side parking as the roads are usually congested due its location right opposite Garden International School. However, let this not be a discouragement to skip the cafe as it is quite a treat for the soul with the mere taste of Scandi right in our neighbourhood.
